Nope, this isn’t a post about the War On Christmas. I will leave that to those con artists who came up with that scheme.
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”- Luke 2:14 KJV
A few brief thoughts on this Advent season and Christmas Eve. First of all, I am grateful for my family, my friends (IRL and online), my co-workers at both jobs, and you, reader of PJ. Everyone is the gift that keeps on giving. Notice that peace does not stay with God isolated and alone. Peace arrives in the form of the fetus who grew to become the Prince of Peace. This peace requires a peacemaker, someone to live out peaceableness in the reality of the here and now. That is God’s peace requires a body, and not only that, but just as our Holy Infant was in the Virgin Mary’s womb, so too are the peacemakers whom Christ calls to cling and to be utterly dependent on God’s Holy Family, whom we refer to as both the Church Triumphant and the Church Militant.
