More Biblical than Mel Gibson's The Passion

Thanks to Polycarp, I found out about a new movie about the life of Christ. What if he came as an African?

Rodney, I believe – and I reckon I could be wrong – but Christ was not white nor American nor Western. Sometimes, to understand out revolutionary the Message of the Gospel really was, we have to change it up a bit. Africa is, in my opinion, the closest to 1st century Palestine at the moment. It is an agrarian society, with its own internal issues, being over run by imperial powers. I cannot wait to see it.

You may be right, in terms of historical context and culture.

But I think the movie will be more biblical because it will be based on the Gospel message, and not the dreams of some random lady or the biases of Mel Gibson.

I think it will be more ‘biblical’ because like the Gospel message, it is something that shakes people up and forces them out of their safety nets.
